Base painting of the vintage movie poster for ''Yolanda the the Thief'', a 1945 musical film directed by Vincente Minnelli, starring Fred Astaire and Lucille Bremer. It's a whimsical romantic fantasy set in an imaginary Latin American country.

The film follows the adventures of Johnny Parkson Riggs (played by Fred Astaire), a con artist posing as a Hollywood star, and Yolanda Aquaviva (played by Lucille Bremer), a sheltered young heiress. When Johnny arrives in the fictional country of Patria, he meets Yolanda and her guardian, the Duchess (played by Mildred Natwick). Mistaken for a famous movie actor, Johnny decides to take advantage of the situation and pose as the character he plays in films.

As Johnny and Yolanda become acquainted, they develop an unlikely bond, and Johnny finds himself falling for Yolanda's innocence and purity. However, their budding romance is threatened by the schemes of an ambitious politician and the Duchess's plans for Yolanda's future.
