Description
These chemical users are called "chemotrophs." Temperatures in this rust colored channel are 122-140 degrees Fahrenheit (50-60 degrees Celsius). Thermophilic algae inhabit the green channel. Like other plants, these algae use green chlorophyll to photosynthesis. The temperature in the green channel is 100-133 degrees Fahrenheit (38-56 degrees Celsius). Whirligig Geyser is in the Porcelain Basin of the Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park.

THIS IS WHAT I LOVE! I made a picture like this before with a much smaller camera, no good quality, and hoping for a day to have another chance. Sooo happy you took the opportunity and endurance to make this one for us - these geysers aren't Always the most pleasantly smelling places around Not sure how this Whirlgig Geyser is smelling (I was 9 years old on my last visit to Yellowstone...) v/f
