Description
This clever original Tibetan calligraphy greeting card for the upcoming Lunar New Year (mid-February) features the Tibetan words, "Losar Shing Luk" (New Year of the Wood Sheep), "hidden" within a stylized sheep that stands between a fruit tree and a lucky pine. In this way, the Chinese/Tibetan zodiac animal and the associated element (sheep, wood) for 2015 are represented in the card. The main image was hand-painted with Japanese sumi-e watercolor ink and highlighted with gold and silver acrylic. The artist's traditional Tibetan seal and signature, adorn the bottom-right corner. The image is digitally embellished with a red Tibetan "endless knot" motif border. A translation of the calligraphy, the Tibetan Greeting, "Tashi Delek!" and "Happy Losar 2015 complete the artwork. A wonderful card to send to a loved one who is into astrology or Asian arts and culture, or simply to add to your own collection of unique stationary.
