Description
Colourful wooden fishing boats moored on the River Tuira near La Palma in eastern Panama's wild and remote Darien province. Darien in is still a true wilderness; no road crosses it connecting Central and South America and it is better known for being a hideaway for drug traffickers and guerrillas than for its natural beauties. The region still contains pristine rainforest, beautiful landscapes, is superb for wildlife and also home to various indigenous tribes. The River Tuira is Panama´s largest river and flows into the Gulf of San Miguel on Panama´s Pacific coast.
