Description
The setting sun had barely disappeared behind distant Kitt Peak when it lit the high winter clouds afire near Tucson, Arizona. The photograph was made at the Winter Solstice from the Catalina Mountains northeast of Tucson. In making this photograph I deliberately avoided including the horizon to render the fiery clouds in a more abstract nature.
This photograph is formatted in the traditional 1:3 ratio for panoramic scenes, and is intended to make a bold, colorful statement where dramatic and wide artwork is needed to fulfill a difficult design requirement.
