Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. OMG This is super do you know how hard it is to get a good shot and how long i have been trying to capture one of these birds ? forever We have 2 in the woods behind our house ,every time i see them they hide on the other side of the tree .Makes me want to clone myself so i can be in 2 places at once lol great work

Mike I'm so thrilled you enjoyed this one ... I have ONE more in my computer that I'll post one of these days ... strictly straight photography ... I don't know what I'm saving him for, lol. And yes, I DO know how hard they are to capture. This is one of a pair ... and they've been living in this area for years. We'd seen one of them years ago ... then never again. BUT we could hear them ... not knowing what they were, I always wondered. Then on the day I got this shot, I'd seen them again for about a week or two prior ... and when I heard one, we'd just gotten home from some function or other ... and baby, I didn't even take time to change out of my shoes, LOL!!! I just grabbed the camera (it had the 150-500 on it) and out the door I went.
