Description
"The older, western volcano of Maui, Hawaii has been eroded considerably and is cut by numerous drainages, forming the peaks of the West Maui Mountains (in Hawaiian, Mauna Kahalawai). Puʻu Kukui is the highest of the peaks at 5,788 feet (1,764 m)." (quote from wikipedia)

I took this photograph near Naihele Cove, actually drove up the mountain on a dirt road and hiked around a while. I was fascinated by the landscape and colours. You know the song lyrics "I feel the earth move under my feet" that is what I felt as I stood here. The earth seemed to breathe and I could feel the life of the earth here in this beautiful place. It actually made my heart race and beat so fast. Exhilarating experience to see these erosional deposits and layers in the lava rock cliffs.
