. . . Congratulations JC on your Sale of your artwork! ... If we were not living 24/7 in an 23 ft RV, without space to hang our own work, would get one myself.... So it is very easy to see what the buyer likes about your work ! !

Thoughtful composition and an overall wonderful eye and image. Glad to hear Catlett is lively these days ;)

Thank you all for the kind words. The town itself is actually quite lively still with just a few vacant buildings. This particular piece of track is no longer used but where the curve leads into a very active CSX line just to the camera's left.

JC, interesting point of view and great detail in this one - love the use of vanishing point! voted

Great shot. I agree, it's kind of sad. Past it's prime, and unused. I wonder if slaves built that railroad? How many people were hurt or died making it? If it was made by machine...is that machine somewhere rotting out from disuse too? It makes me think.

Thanks Don. I used to live in TN. A beautiful and diverse state that I would like to get down and spend a few months shooting images in.

Really fine work. I'm with Michael. I've never been east of Tennessee, but I would dearly love to see Virginia

JC, you are making me want to visit VA with these amazing pieces you have been posting.
JC Findley replied:
Thanks Micheal. I am moving to NYC in the fall and on a mission to shoot this part of Virginia before I move. The amazing thing to me is that all these farms and tractors and small towns I have been shooting are all within a half hour drive (without traffic) of DC.
