Artist's Description
These vintage Fairbanks scales were found inside a barn, located at Wheeler Farm, Utah. The early morning sunlight fell just right, giving these two classic scales the perfect accent of shadows and light. I digitally enhanced the image, I think it brought out the old world look and feel of these collectible relics of the past. I know it is hard to imagine, but most store bought dry goods were purchased in bulk, the weights and measures calculated by the sharp eyes of shop keepers and customers alike. I enjoy creating fine art photographs of items which were used on a daily basis from years gone by. Its my way of saving a bit of our collective past, at the same time giving my customers beautiful images of the past to decorate the walls of their homes and offices. My photographic style, interest and taste is eclectic, so continue to stroll through the gallery, I am sure you will find fine art photographs to suite your ideas of design and decor.
