Some very skilled craftsmanship would have gone into producing this piano, but would the sounds it produced be any better than those produced by a plainer instrument? So many people, even today, regard a piano more as a piece of furniture than a musical instrument. It must have been a nightmare to dust and polish, but then the people who owned it probably would not have cared, as they probably had at least one servant to do the housework. A great likeness of this beautiful instrument! What sort of wood was it made out of? The inlaid marquetry is particularly interesting.
