This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
Having recently been to Rome the first thing that struck me when viewing the front of the Jefferson Memorial was that it looked like Rome's Pantheon. Thomas Jefferson was a scholar and an architect, and admired the architecture of ancient Rome. Architect John Russell Pope designed the Jefferson Memorial to reflect those tastes. At the entrance seen here, steps lead to a portico with Ionic columns supporting a triangular pediment. Carvings in the pediment depict Thomas Jefferson with four other men who helped draft the Declaration of Independence. When it was built, some critics mocked the Jefferson Memorial, calling it Jefferson's muffin. About Joan Carroll
Protected with PIXSY About Joan Carroll: I am a Fort Worth Texas-based outdoor photographer who feels at home while on the road...in Texas, in the US, around the world. Wherever I go I want to walk every street, hike every trail, ride the bus or metro, climb every tower, walk around and through every monument, and then do it all over again when the light changes. In every place, light, mood, color, and...
