Description

Savanna grassland and track disappearing into infinity on the western horizon at sunset time, was a great metaphor for a challenging exploration and study of Kundelungu National Park, DRC-Congo, Katanga Province, Central Africa which I experienced in April 2012. These beautiful savannas unfortunately produced a very strong disquiet in me as well, because all the big game have disappeared due to warfare the last few years. We were in the park starting a process of analysis and mapping to help in the process of rehabilitation and restoration (in time) of the ecosystem and wildlife.
