Rusted vehicle door. View of the heavily corroded door of an abandoned vehicle. Large amounts of orange rust can be seen. Rust is a compound formed by the attack of air and water on iron. Surfaces prone to attack are usually painted to keep air and water out, but if the paint starts to peel, as here, the metal can rapidly be destroyed.
