This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

Artist's Description

This is a very rare and unique photograph of USS Mississippi, BB41, steaming out of San Diego Harbor in April, 1928. This photograph was rescued from a heavily damaged negative and lovingly restored pixel by pixel. From Wikipedia: "USS Mississippi (BB-41/AG-128), a New Mexico-class battleship, was the third ship of the United States Navy named in honor of the 20th state, and the second battleship to carry the name. "After the war, her two sisters were quickly decommissioned and scrapped, but Mississippi continued to serve another decade as a weapons testing ship (AG-128). She played an important role in the development of the RIM-2 Terrier missile system.
"After an attempt to acquire her as a m...

I find the lost or overlooked negatives and bring them back to life. I still take pictures for my own pleasure, and some of them will be here, but I find greater pleasure and "treasure" in bringing old negatives back to life. When I say, "restoration," I mean just that. It holds the...
