My all time favorite birdie is the bluebird. Years ago we were blessed to have them nesting in our yard 2 or three times a season, and it was something the whole family enjoyed. We did a bit of landscaping and unwittingly took away their favorite swooping area (and substituted a swimming pool, lol!) ... and though they still visit, they no longer nest with us. No matter, though, as they're common throughout the area. I love their songs!!!! This little female's image was captured in April of 2010 at a small, open air bird sanctuary in Montgomery Maryland with the Nikon D300 and the 150-500mm OS Sigma lens at 450 focal distance.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
