Detail of a vintage Chinese postage stamp depicting tradional farming methods. The image was beautifully engraved with a nice border which I have cropped to give an offset but hopefully balanced composition. The weight of tradition in the image's theme is countered by the relatively funky italics of the stamp's denomination, presumably representing progress.
