Description
The Bird of Paradise is one of my favorite Tropical flowers. The bright, vibrant colors captures the feeling of Florida. While painting this I decided to focus on a ground view, looking up through the flowers in to the sky. I wanted to capture the flower opening in such a way that it seemed as if the flower's petals are like a bird's wings opening ready to take flight. I am honored to have the original painting hanging in Florida's State Capital in Representative Katie Edward's office (2017).
