This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
Todays portraits can trace their roots all the way back to the dawn of man when we first began drawing them on the walls of caves. Next, during the age of antiquity, portraiture reached its heyday The term Age of Antiquity is most often used when referring to the classical civilizations of the Mediterranean, especially Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. From the beginning portraits not only described physical features but even more importantly power and status. There was a decline through the Middle ages but the Renaissance saw a resurgence and reinvention that became a turning point in the history of portraiture. From that point in time to present day the field of portraiture has traveled many roads. At one time portraits tended to be only of the royals, nobles and religious figures but soon came to include the bourgeoisie and often as not the immediate circle of artists and even nameless models.

Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
