The Western Tiger Swallowtail, Papilio rutulus, are butterflies that belong to the popular ‘swallowtail’ group that is well-known for their vibrant coloration and characteristic triangular wings. It is one of the most common large butterflies that are seen in summer in western United States and southern British Columbia in Canada.
