The Farm on the southside of Phoenix, AZ is a large garden or a small farm whichever you prefer. On this day Oil Painters of America were having a paint out at this site and one of the other artists is just visible on the right side under the tree. It was a hot day in October and the vegetables were green and ready for harvest.

When I was young I spent a lot of time exploring the woods and countryside near my home in rural Indiana. This innate love of nature was fostered by my father and grandmother and they encouraged me as I began to draw the subjects I found there. This eventually led to plein air painting in a variety of media as I sought out the pastoral in my efforts to connect with the land.
