Description
Feeling a bit homesick for the raw beauty of northern Ontario, I painted this panoramic view of a misty northern lake sunrise with rocky shores, evergreens and birch trees. Using a combination of brushes and palette knife, I added some detailed foreground driftwood and submerged rocks to balance the obscured misty distant landscape. This large oil on board original painting was based on fond memories, experiences and my personal vision. It is of no place in particular but represents the collective beauty of many northern lakes that have touched my heart and make my soul sing.
