Description
Lake Lucerne is a large lake (the 4th largest in the country) in the central part of Switzerland and adjoins the city that bears the same name. Lake Lucerne does not fit the classical shape of a lake, round, since it has a complicated shape, with a total area of 114 sq km. The lake draws a large number of tourists with tourist ships traversing the lake, and many hotels and restaurants on the shore.
In earlier times, the lake was used extensively for transport, but in recent times, the development of rail and road traffic has meant that the lake is now increasingly used for tourist traffic. The lake is also used by tourists who are returning from the mountain resort of Mount Pilatus to the city of Lucerne. We were on one such ship and I was trying to catch the wake of the ship, and in this photo, could take such a shot while also catching the houses at the far end of the lake (not in focus though).
