The picture of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Blue Ridge Mountains was taken early in the morning before sunrise or first light. It was taken during the spectacular display of fall colors that can be seen on the parkway in Autumn.
I especially like this photo because of the pristine condition of the parkway. Autumn leaves had fallen onto and had covered the parkway during the night. This picture was taken before a single car had driven through the area. Once a car went through, the beauty of the leaves on the roadbed would have been destroyed with the tracks of the tires crushing the leaves and the rest of the leaves being blown to the side. The picture was artifically lighted.
