Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
This is originally a drawing I did of my 13-15 yr old teenage son while he was relaxing on the lounge reading. He was a very long and lanky looking youth who grew up to be over 6 feet tall.
I had the original drawing of this artwork in an old album and decided I wanted to give it to him when he was an adult. Consequently the drawing has old album marks on it, since I wasn't thinking of this as something that needed to be professionally thought about for the future etc; given that I was a stay at home mum at the time with 3 younger children. But I feel this stripey effect gives this picture an unusual abstract effect as well as aging it which can also be interesting. The sky and cloud effect was digitally created to give the drawing subject matter a sense of being lifted off the page and into a fantasy realm up into the sky, somewhere that stories can often transport one in a sense.
As a creative person all my life I've been drawn to expressing myself through drawing, painting and poetry. Also as an eclectic in most areas of my life, my artworks also express that and fun in creating is what inspires me at any given time.
