Description
A favorite memory — photographing this character on my first visit as a guest digital arts instructor at the 2008 Hot Art Colony at historic Tougaloo College.
Founded in 1869, Tougaloo College is an independent, historically black, coeducational four-year liberal arts institution, located on the northern border of Jackson, Mississippi.
Over the years, there has been a tradition of resident students creating a variety of moss sculptures.
Tougaloo College's name is a Choctaw word that means where two streams cross.
Here it references the Pearl River and the Mississippi.
I was invited back to this extraordinarily beautiful campus for the 2010 Hot Art Colony.
