Description
Here we are in Albuquerque New Mexico to experience our first Balloon Fiesta. It is 4:30 am and it's cold as hell but we are excited because the Mass Ascension will happen in a few short hours. One hour goes by, it's cold, it's windy. Another couple of hours goes by, it is still cold and even more windy. By this time we have had about 20 cups of coffee and had to buy a blanket as not to freeze to death when we hear the PA announcer say, there will be no flying today, we will try again tomorrow. TRY? Hugh! The next morning we had an insider say they wouldn't fly so we didn't go, of coarse it cleared up and they flew, oh well.
OK, it is Monday morning and here we are again but it is not as cold and no wind. The announcement, WE ARE GOING TO FLY. The fans cranked up, the hot air began to flow and the first balloons headed to the sky. Wow! Then I saw it, what is that, It looked like a hot air ballon of my head flying over head. I could see the pilot and he looked like one of my students in my BIG Heads Photography tour of the American Southwest class, Bob. We kept an eye on this balloon until it finally landed. I ran over and it was Bob and said what is this? He said that he owned a hot air balloon manufacturer in South Dakota and when he met me he knew he had to create this balloon. Why of me? Isn't it obvious, Your big head , you know, the one you got from all your success in the ART and Photography "BIZ" and of coarse the fact that it didn't take me long to see that you were filled with an unlimited amount of HOT AIR. Well I can't argue with that. All I can say is, "Welcome to the world as I see it. To smile, be happy and laugh as much as possible, that's what life should be about. I hope this shows through my work and makes you feel the same way."
