Beautiful photograph of a P-51D Mustang, Ted! This plane looks as good as it did int the 1940's. A 94 year old friend of mine flew a P-51D Mustang in WW2 out of New Guinea, and I am amazed by his stories. He said that many of his friends were shot down and didn't survive. He also was shot down, but was able to bring his crippled plane in for a landing, and to fly more missions afterwards. He has many stories of air-to-air combat of P-51D's against Japanese Zeros. It's difficult to imagine the heroism of those young pilots (now in their 90's if still living) who flew these machines in combat. F/L

Thank you Morris for the comment and was it you who bought a print? If so many thanks. I am into aeroplanes in a big way and some of instructors flew them in W.W.2. My best instructor flew Hawker Typhoons at one stage.
