...Early morning mists
touch the trail
on a lovely Spring morning,
captured here
in the Cherokee National Forest
of Tennessee.
This is the zig-zag section
of the Benton Waterfalls Trail
that descends down
to this pretty falls.
The trail is beautiful
in the Spring, Summer,
and Autumn
and is quite easy.
Mostly flat
with just a few small dips,
until the hiker
descends to the waterfalls.
The hike is less than 3 miles
and is well-worth
making the effort
to arrive at the lovely waterfall
where one can stand
or sit right below the falls
and dip one's toes
into the cool mountain water...
