Description
Cape buffalo are tormented by ticks and flies. Their tails are too short to swat the insects away so they rely on voracious yellow billed ox-peckers, annoying birds at best, to eat the little buggers while distracting the buffalo with a new but beneficial symbiotic friendship. Nature is wonderfully creative. Masai Mara, Kenya, Nikon d6 with 600 fl telephoto lens.
