Description
I captured this glowing sunset image as I rounded a corner on the Laurel Falls trail, Gatlinburg, TN, in the Great Smoky Mountains. I came back to the cabin and the next day began painting what I had seen from the photograph with acrylics on canvas. Within a few days I had the essence of the sun setting as it kissed the inside corner of the mountains where I stood. I will never forget the sudden beauty of that turn on the trail and hope to go back again.
I have also included an image of the painting in process in this gallery, so please take a look because . . . Yes, it really did look like this!
