Description
I wanted to combine elements from a couple of my previous pieces in order to experimentally see how they worked together. I found this background interesting and wanted to see how it played off the pinks and reds I had used for some earlier florals. I used Winsor & Newton watercolor paint in this although it is predominantly Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold pressed paper. I had a bit of a difficult time getting the pinks, reds, and yellows to scan with the proper tonality for the digitized version of the painting. The original is 14" x 10.25" in size.

I love the way the different shades of pink add to the painting with such depth and passion, i am only 14 and i would love to use you and your paintings for an artist study for my final project piece in my textile course?
Ken Powers replied:
Thank you for the kind words Beckie! I am flattered. Feel free to include me in your project and let me know if you have any questions.

So cool! The lines behind add to it in a unique way. The colors go good too.;-)
Ken Powers replied:
Thanks Cathie! I used that background on my previous piece but wanted to see how it would interact with a bit more detailed subject.

This is fantastic! Love your new technique with your floral series. You're wonderfully dangerous in the artistic realm once you turn loose!!! :)
Ken Powers replied:
Thanks Marsha! I had a tough time getting the color accuracy this time but with some work, I got the scanned image to be pretty close to the original.
