Description
This inquisitive zebra was photographed at The Wilds, an animal conservation park located in Zanesville, OH. As of 2013 The Wilds maintains 31 rare and endangered species from around the world, 20 of which are part of programs managed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and 13 are federally listed endangered species.
Jack Hanna was already a household name when The Wilds received a gift of more than 9,000 acres of land from the Central Ohio Coal Company, a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company.
Visualizing the potential of The Wilds required imagination, because there was nothing to see.
Hed be the first to tell you that no single person is responsible for the miraculous transformation of The Wilds, least of all him.
But we can tell you that without his passion and energy as board member, television personality, and global ambassador, The Wilds would be one of the conservation worlds least known success stories.
