About Candie Witherspoon
I was born, Candie Sims, a native of Jasper, Texas and the oldest of 6 children born to Hubert and Deborah Sims. I was an Honor Graduate of Jasper High School and graduated Suma Cum Laude from McNeese State University, in Lake Charles, LA. I received a B.A. degree in Art Education and a Minor in Psychology. My art concentration was in Photography. I am certified to teach Art Education K-12, AP Studio Art, and ELA 6th-9th grade in the State of Louisiana. I married Michael A. Witherspoon of Lake Charles, and currrently live in Iowa, Louisiana with our daughter Sarah. I have had her artwork exhibited in the Jurored Texas Nationals Art Exhibition through Stephen F.
