Description
If you are unfamiliar with Antelope Canyon, the canyons offer two separate, scenic slot canyon sections: Upper Antelope and Lower Antelope. They are Navajo Sandstone, carved by erosion, particularly flash flooding and aerial elements. It is not a National Park, but the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department run it. Antelope Canyon is a place that makes you want to walk slowly. It's also an area where people naturally whisper rather than talk out loud. This special place is a very spiritual place for the Navajo. You know, that slow pace just before stopping. Each step introduces a new view to capture. From spring to Fall, these canyons offer special times when the sun plays a part in change throughout the Upper Antelope. You never know when the sunlight will appear. The sun constantly interrupts gently, building the mysticism of this exceptional place. This image is one of my favorites. I loved the way amongst all the red rock that a veil of blue had sneaked its way down, even though I couldn't see the source. It had a way of adding a purplish haze to most of the area. I thought it was beautiful. I especially loved the way the sunbeam coming downward was split into two. This place was a split beam. Antelope Canyon, Upper Section, Page AZ
