Sofie's Tea Party is the tenth illustration in the series of "Sofie and Mittens". This ink and watercolor drawing by Marilyn Smith was created illustrating a delightful, impish little "free-spirit" girl with red hair and glasses, that has her own sense of style and is not intimidated by "correct colors" or combinations in her wardrobe! Most of Sofie's outfits fall into the category of vintage styles. She loves wearing hats and her favorite boots. She is a caring, fun-loving, but old-fashioned child who loves to try new adventures. Sofie also has her orange tiger kitty named Mittens, that is always by her side in every adventure.
Today Sofie and Mittens are hosting a tea party on the front porch. Sofie's doll is all decked out with lots of jewelry, just like her owner. Mittens found an appropriate hat for the party too. Sofie has her pretty blue dress, many pieces of jewelry and her favorite flowery straw hat for tea. Her sense of style dictates that she wear crazy stockings. She did leave her favorite boots in the house.
