About Jeannette Debonne
ABOUT THE ARTIST Jeannette Debonne is a native of the Southern California desert. She took her formal training at UCLA where she graduated as a painting major, having studied under William Brice, John Paul Jones, and Jan Stussy. Debonne’s large brilliantly colored abstract paintings reflect a long and carefully studied evolution. Her early paintings employed the academic disciplines acquired during the university years, especially an insistence on classical drawing, and invariably using the human figure as a point of departure. Over a 40-year career, her images began to fracture and eventually evolve into the abstract imagery that has become the hallmark of her paintings.
