Description

Located in the heart of the historic center of Siena, Loggia della Mercanzia was constructed in the early 15th century. Designed by Sano di Matteo and Pietro del Minella with the Sienese style of architecture which was a transition between the late Gothic and Renaissance styles.
As I walked in the rain on the third tour day in Italy, I approached a crossroads that was full of activity. Instantly, I was inspired to capture the contrast of ancient, weathered structures with the brightly colored umbrellas.
