Description
This piece contains a "sacred geometry" known as a "Shri Yantra" that originated in India and is composed of 9 interlocked triangles. To be drawn correctly, it must include concurrency, centricity, and equalaterity and is widely considered to be very difficult to draw without errors at the intersections. There are 3 main forms of the Sri Yantra: Plane, pyramidal, spherical. This image combines 2 forms: Plane & Spherical. The spherical is also called "Kurma" and is considered the most difficult to draw correctly since it contains curved lines. Around the Shri Yantra, there are 2 rows of lotus flower petals representing chakras surrounded by 3 circles for the past, present, and future existing together. The image also contains an "earth square" representing a temple containing 4 doors/portals facing outward to the 4 cardinal directions (North, East, West, & South). Mandalas have been known in India and Tibet since 3000 B.C. dating back thousands of years, Mandalas have been used for inner healing, meditation, enhancing intuitive & sixth sense powers and to connect with the eternal universe. The Shri Yantra is considered one of the most powerful and is associated with abundance, affluence, and prosperity. The butterfly represents transformation.
