Description
An Abstract digital painting of a Falling star or Meteorite.
Inspired by views of the stars commonly seen in many National Parks, where there is much less light pollution, than around the cities.
A shooting star is another name for a meteoroid that burns up as it passes through the Earths atmosphere. So, a shooting star isnt a star at all.
Most of the shooting stars that we can see are known as meteoroids. These are objects as small as a piece of sand, and as large as a boulder. Smaller than a piece of sand, and astronomers call them interplanetary dust. If theyre larger than a boulder, astronomers call them asteroids.
A meteoroid becomes a meteor when it strikes the atmosphere and leaves a bright tail behind it. The bright line that we see in the sky is caused by the ram pressure of the meteoroid. Its not actually caused by friction, as most people think. But, whatever people want to call them, the are an interesting phenomena of the night skies, where you are away from the city lights.

Blessings Abound all around us, many except children, do not recognize them. See the world through the eyes of a child. Our Goal is to show our Impressions of the Blessings in Beauty that Surround all of Us. Where we just see the Creator, through HIS creations, which inspired our work. HE gave us the talent to show HIS work and may this please or inspire you... anyway. . . . . We hope that our work may take you to places, to see Him, in ways you may not have the opportunity otherwise...

I always wanted to capture this! Great job getting in on film... or on a CARD I guess I should say! FVG+
Bob and Nadine Johnston replied:
Painting it, is about the only way to capture it. It happens to fast in reality, and you can not choose composition or create the curves. Usually you only get a tiny faint line in the sky among may thousands of stars. So this is how my mind imagined it would look through a powerful telescope. 8>)
