Description
Hello friends...Well it has been a long couple of months. I had put down my camera in order to support my husband as he faced a recurrence of his cancer and had to undergo major surgery. Two weeks ago he had his surgery and he came through it remarkably well. He is now at home recuperating. Throughout this time, I have turned to this image as my therapy. I needed fun and colour in my life! This is a beautiful big old Ponderosa Pine tree that we passed on a country road one day not too long ago. I thought, yep, only human beings would do this! I had to take a picture. When I uploaded it onto my computer I felt that it was very dull and uninteresting as all the shoes had gone gray and dirty. It was then that I realized this could be my therapy picture. I vowed I would paint each and every shoe and bring it to life! The work on this image ran parallel to my inner journey of perseverance, patience and a search for the colour and life in an otherwise bleak and worrisome time. As a result, it is an image with alot of significance for me. I also learned alot about the use of colour and painting in photoshop. While I could re-do it now with more skill, I want to leave it this way as it is a testament to this time in my life and it is what it is! Hope it brightens your day and makes you smile. I also want to thank all of you, my Fine Art friends, who have written me so many special and encouraging emails and notes. I feel so blessed to be part of the FAA family and to have met so many wonderful, kind and caring people. Bless you all. (PS can you find the hot pink pump?) The fine art logo will not appear on image.

Although this is a picture of an existing conceptual piece, I nonetheless appreciate the color contrast against the forest green. The framing gives it another kind of context.

I just love the story with this picture! I find art is the best therapy to deal with difficult situations in life! Expressing pain, loss, joy, love, faith...all comes out from the soul and into the image! I love that you have brought a dull scene to life with beautiful color!..I think that is what we hope for in life, that after we have crossed through a scene there is a bit more color...a bit more joy!.......vf
