Description
"...The world was really one bee yard, and the same rules work fine in both places. Don't be afraid, as no life-loving bee wants to sting you. Still, don't be an idiot; wear long sleeves and pants. Don't swat. Don't even think about swatting. If you feel angry, whistle. Anger agitates while whistling melts a bee's temper. Act like you know what you're doing, even if you don't. Above all, send the bees love. Every little thing wants to be loved."

A wonderful little honey bee, enjoying the fun little yellow coreopsis in my garden last summer. Original photographic image taken with the then-new D7000 and the 105mm Nikon / Nikkor micro/macro lens. Editing and experimenting in several Photoshop versions, Capture NX2 and a lovely texture from 2 Lil Owls.
Companion piece to "Spices From A Million Flowers."

Great advice I tried to remember last year when shooting a bunch of black wasps. But of course I was kidding myself as they don't care if they sting you or not. Still I came away unstung in spite of getting well into their little faces! Love your treatment here Lois, excellent texture work

Super image and processing. I like very much the way that the bee has almost vanished in to the setting and that the flowers have become very abstract shapes. A very unique take on a common subject! L
