I spent the morning photographing a wide variety of things; from sailboats to sunrises to pelicans to shorebirds and finally some macro shots of shells and stones. While I was focussed on the shells a fishermen called to me and showed me a sea turtle he had found. He released it into the surf and I managed a few frames. I went back to my shells and then someone else found one...a few more frames. Later I learned they were coming from a small pen where the eggs were left to hatch. They had been trying to get the attention of the person who is responsible for collecting the newly hatched turtles as some to be perishing in the sun. This was why they had tried to let a few of them go. In time, the attendant arrived and collected a fairly large number of turtles that still remained in the pen. I was happy to see him collect them so they could be properly released in a way that might minimize their chances of predation.
