Description
The sandstone strata of the walls of Grand Wash Canyon in Capitol Reef National Park create a beautiful natural abstract. The cliffs are made up of Wingate and Navajo sandstone. Wingate layers are usually pale orange to red; Navajo sandstone can be white, black, brown, shades of reds and oranges, pink, gold and yellow. The blue color here is probably a result of the deep shadows on this wall.

Hi Nikolyn; I am totally taken by this FANTABULOUS image! What a WOW. I love the combination of lines, waves, curves, colours, textures, lights, darks, shadows, etc. etc. etc. So very well noticed, composed, and photographed.
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thank you very much, Hany, for your unbridled enthusiasm. Actually brings back my excitement as I was walking through this canyon taking in its beauty.
