A surrealistic digital collage that captures the essence of the first verses of the Ecclesiastes:
"Meaningless! Meaningless!"
says the Teacher.
"Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless."
"What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?"

I started this digital art collage with the image of an hourglass in which time, like quicksands sucks the life of the sinking man, while on the other side, like a production line, "the finished product" is delivered as a skeleton. This artwork may also serve as an irony to the so-called "modern world" consumerism. The dark mood is also reinforced both by the scorched land and the grunge texture.
"Memento Mori" is a Latin phrase meaning "Be mindful of death" and may be translated as "Remember that you are mortal," "Remember you will die," "Remember that you must die," or "Remember your death". It names a genre of artistic creations that var...
