The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

He has developed his skills from attending many artist workshops and some college, but mainly from studying the works of the "Hudson River School" artists of the mid to late 1800's. Some of their landscape locations were very exotic, but it really didn't matter.
