Description
"Sakura Rain"
A close-up photograph of the pink sakura blossoms and striking maroon red stamens on one of the three Okamé cherry trees that I planted in the garden in front of my house when we first moved to Chester County, PA. This was taken immediately after a spring rain, just as the sun was beginning to peek from the clouds, so the flowers and leaves were still quite wet with raindrops. This photo was taken with my favorite vintage manual focus f/1.4 prime lens, which provided the beautiful bokeh background that additionally helps to evoke that rainy day feel. So what if that vintage glass is a little radioactive, we spare no risk for a good shot, amirite? AMIRITE?? Well, as long as I don't start glowing in the dark I figure I'm good. Please visit my Contemporary Botanicals art gallery to see more of the sakura flower photography I risked life and limb ("limb"... get it? ;) to take.
