Description
The Rock of Cashel, also known as St. Patrick's Rock, is located in Cashel, Ireland. It was considered as a landmark and the site of a fortress and a chapel since about 1100. Cormac's Chapel (Chapel of King Cormac) was built about 1130, with vaulted ceilings and wide arches. The Cathedral was completed in 1270. Graves are on the northern side of the ruins. The remains of the Rock of Cashel are a major tourist attraction.
