This was a personal journey inward allowing my heart and spirit to feel and heal from sorrow and loss; to understand and accept the emotions that come with it. This painting symbolizes human vulnerability and the battle with depression. It symbolizes evolution, adaptation, and metamorphosis of the human spirit. It symbolizes finding the strength to rise again - to take these broken wings and learn to fly - to defy gravity; to take the sorrow and turn it into compassion, appreciation, and gratitude; to take the defeat and use it to rise again and to fight - to make the most of this beautiful life.
