The Flume is an interesting rapid on the Upper Kern River, it is always a class IV or greater according to our rafting guru.
Here is one of the guys from our group successfully riding The Flume in his very stylish life jacket.
Please do not try this, some parts of The Flume are extremely dangerous and ridiculously hard to get out of. In order to raft this part of the river one must be physically fit, and pass a test along with experience under his/her belt.
