The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

This beautiful flower is a dahlia although I'm not certain of what kind. I've edited this piece in Photoshop to get the effects you see here. Photo taken in the Fall of 2013.
